The IMF representative in Ukraine Your Jerome expressed his concerns about the future cooperation fund with the country. According to him, Ukraine may deviate from the set course, which is not included in the plans of the IMF. The country should strictly adhere to the policies that lenders are willing to support.
To date, Ukraine has to adopt the budget and tax reform. The Cabinet is considering two options for tax reform from the government and from the deputies. Each of these options is to reduce the expenditure side of the budget: Project Finance - 60 billion hryvnia (about $ 2.5 billion), a deputy - a 200 billion hryvnia (about $ 8.4 billion).
The differences between the Fund and the Government of Ukraine, sooner or later had to occur. Not least because the IMF is pushing the country to the reforms that seriously affected the welfare of the population. The government understands this and does not want to aggravate the already difficult situation in the country. Moreover, it could lead to new unrest, and even the overthrow of the current government.
