In December, a study was conducted, the main purpose was to learn about the savings of Americans in the future. It was attended by more than 5 thousand respondents, the results are not too optimistic.
For example, almost 62 percent of American citizens have a savings account is less than one thousand US dollars, and 21 per cent of the bill and did not.
These data are alarming to analysts, since the unforeseen expenses of the Americans do not have a reserve, and if that happens, they will have to rely on loans, help from friends and family or even withdraw funds from retirement accounts.
According to the study the most unprepared for contingencies were representatives of "Generation X" - people aged 35 to 44 years, they made 31.6 percent. At the same time young people, age 18 to 24 years old, was recorded the lowest rate - 21.8 percent.
It is worth noting that according to the results of a similar study by the Federal Reserve System, which took place earlier, 57 percent of US citizens who had savings before the recession, they have expended during the crisis.
